I’m in the UK in my late fifties. My parents were wind rush Barbadian. They didn’t really have mad broad Bajan accents accents change over time as society change. Jamaican patios was dominant because of the roots reggae uk revolution. However the Bajan dialect is closely related to Irish dialect and folklore. Our African ancestors learnt English under the whip of Irish overseers who were buffers between the us Africans and the English planters.
